Simon Riggs is a recognised cybersecurity leader with 30 years of experience helping organisations strengthen their cyber resilience. He has led major cyber and risk programmes across global industries, including investment banking, retail, media, and FMCG, ensuring organisations remain secure in an evolving digital landscape.
Simon has held senior leadership positions at top-tier financial institutions, including nine years as EMEA Regional CISO at Bank of America and as Global Head of IT Security at Thomson Reuters. His expertise spans cybersecurity strategy, risk management, and regulatory compliance, with extensive experience in IT governance and change delivery.
A trusted advisor to both industry and government, Simon has played a key role in shaping the UK’s cybersecurity landscape. He was the inaugural industry chair of the Bank of England’s Cyber Coordination Group, a steering committee member for the UK’s Financial Sector Cyber Collaboration Centre, and Chair of the Financial Services Information Exchange (FSIE). With a deep passion for cybersecurity and threat prevention, Simon is committed to helping our customers navigate complex security challenges with an unwavering focus on protecting the vital systems and critical data that our country relies on - from healthcare and legal infrastructure to education and financial services. His contributions to the industry have been widely recognised, including being named Information Security Magazine’s “Security 7” winner for innovation in financial services security and as a finalist for the Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year UK & Ireland Awards.
