Supporting you through the New School Year

16/09/2015 minute read Doug Hargrove

As the calendar reaches September, it’s time to get excited about the new school year and a fresh start to teaching.

Although you’re never quite as organised as you’d like to be when that first bell rings, we’ve been working hard at our end to make the transition as painless as possible.

Our expert support team are ready and waiting to help you through all the twists and turns that come with it. The summer update we rolled out to Progresso and Facility will make sure you’re fully prepared for the autumn census.

Welcome to Facility 15.2 and Progresso 15.3.1

We understand that back to school time can be stressful, even for the most efficient of institutions. Over the autumn term, you’ll need to submit your data about individual pupils and your school for the statutory school census. The deadline for this is Wednesday 28 October 2015.

You’ll also have to put forward your data on all teaching and support staff in regular employment by 4 December 2015.

Our latest updates help to make this process easier to manage, without making changes which will affect how you use your MIS.

Your back-to-school survival pack

There’s always one thing important thing that slips your mind at this time of the year, so we recently sent your school an emergency survival kit.

In it was a checklist of all of the things you might have forgotten about your Advanced software and some useful, handpicked articles to prepare you for any stress September might bring.

We also packed our website with FAQs you’ve recently asked about our software so take a look if you’ve got any new term niggles.

Accurately monitor and measure learner performance

Over the next few months, we’re excited to announce additional reports to help you further improve your tracking of learners.

Progress 8 and Attainment 8 reporting for Facility are now available on Firstline. Both updates will work out the individual learner’s best subjects within preset qualifying elements. The update will then use a 1-9 point system based on the learner’s grade achievements.

By the end of the year, school league performance tables will be judged by this information so it’s important to make sure you’re fully prepared. We’re on hand to help guide you through the changes and answer any questions you might have.

From all of us at Advanced, we wish you all the luck on your first term back. Here’s to clean notebooks and new Sharpies!
