Advanced People Management recently attended the CIPD Festival of Work at London Olympia, it was a truly brilliant and inspiring couple of days, filled with sunshine, great conversation and the swapping of innovative ideas!
The Festival of Work is a two day event run to explore and find answers for some of the challenges facing the world of work today. During the two days there were talks from industry experts, roundtable workshop sessions, and product demonstrations from a range of organisations.
The Festival of Work highlights key trends in the workplace, this year’s 5 key trends were.
- Internal change evolving organisational models, structures and processes
- Digital and technological transformation
- Changing demographics and D&I strategy
- Diversifying employment relationships
- Sustainability, purpose and responsible business.
Our team had a fantastic time meeting people and talking to them about these trends, as well as how Advanced’s people management software can help with productivity and efficiency in the workplace.
It was so exciting to see what other organisations are doing in the well-being space, and it was brilliant to see the emphasis being put on supporting employees to ensure better people experience and more engagement.
It was interesting for us to see that UK businesses are now looking to reinvest again in their HR tech following the Covid pandemic. They are doing this to ensure they have the best people experience possible, but this comes with a lot of considerations.
Some considerations we picked up on that are a concern for many organisations were skill gaps, productivity, attrition and recruitment. Some of these have become more prominent since the pandemic, and won’t be going away any time soon.
Being able to understand the pain points at other organisations means we can work with them to overcome these, using systems designed to help with things like supporting development, boosting productivity, reducing resignations and attracting talent.
Other subjects such as hybrid working, diversity, inflation, learning & development, effective communication and management education were hot topics at the event. These subjects are having a big impact on a lot of organisations right now, and they are ones that we also have a keen interest in, so discussing these and listening to talks around them was useful to us.
As well as soaking up ideas, our team were there to showcase our wide Advanced People Management suite to the HR community, this suite includes:
Our goal in sharing these different people management tools is to help them troubleshoot their current processes, and start the journey to saying yes to a people first culture.
We were lucky enough to sponsor the well-being village at this year’s Festival of Work, along with well-being coach Jenna Robins, who was running interactive sessions around her 6 minute method, using Qi Gong techniques to rewire the brain, to reduce stress and increase performance.
We believe that people management and well-being go hand in hand, after all happier, less stress employees perform better, take less sick days due to stress and are less likely to leave their job. That’s why our people management software is designed to make working lives easier.
‘We were delighted and honoured to attend the FOW; it was a great opportunity for Advanced to showcase our people management suite and announce ourselves as a key player in the HCM space. Our people and our products stood out from the crowd and we were able to showcase our cutting edge technology along with our customer first approach.
MyWorkPlace was a highlight for many visitors addressing the challenges facing organisations, such as employee engagement and wellbeing. Sponsoring the wellbeing village was a privilege, and we were able to meet and interact with so many great HR and Payroll professionals; we cannot wait for next year.’ Martin Eade VP of People Management at Advanced
