Advanced launches UK's first SDLT and Land Registry gateway

Today Advanced officially announce the launch of the UK’s first combined Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) and Land Registry gateway, building on the success of its award-winning Laserform Hub solution.

The combined gateway will simplify the submission process for law firms that complete commercial and residential filing. The current process requires law firms to access the SDLT and Land Registry portals separately and complete a series of stages and enter various points of data in order to submit forms. This can be time-consuming and prone to error due to the complex nature of the process.

Advanced worked closely with both the Land Registry and SDLT teams to create a single submission gateway for all commercial and residential property purchases. The service provides legal teams with a simple online process of submitting SDLT and AP1 forms, with auto population of forms and alerts to ensure work is completed when required and deadlines are not missed.

Laserform Hub, launched in December 2014 as a true Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, has gone from strength to strength with an average of 95% of mortgage filings to Companies House coming through the Hub. Due to the nature of the product and its adoption by top 100 law firms, it has become the preferred management product for firms registering charges with Companies House.

Doug Hargrove, Managing Director at Advanced Legal comments, “The launch of the SDLT & Land Registry combined gateway shows our continuing commitment to bridge the gap between complex government processes and how law firms work on a daily basis.

“Having worked with both customers and the Government agencies to develop Laserform Hub we have created a product that brings real value to the legal market and helps to streamline notoriously complex processes.”

With customers including Clifford Chance, Addleshaw Goddard and FieldFisher using Laserform Hub, the platform has continued to grow over the last 12 months and already sees over 700 transactions a month pass through its gateways.

The success of the early adopter programme and pre-release interest for the combined SDLT and Land Registry gateway has led to over 40 law firms already signing up to use the service ahead of its launch.
